Not that we haven’t already said this about a million times, but the 2014 Honda Accord is a really, really good car. It’s spacious, efficient, reliable, safe, and technologically-advanced, and of course, it wears the badge of one of the most trusted automakers in the world. For those reasons, Honda dealerships across the country have sold a ton of these vehicles, but we were all recently given a pretty pleasant surprise when it was revealed that consumers purchased more Honda Accord models than any other car in America for the 2013 calendar year.
In all, more individual consumers registered Honda Accord models (both new and used) than any other car built for Americans last year, according to automotive data and marketing solutions leader, Polk. All told, there over 360,000 Accord models were registered last year, making it the top consumer choice not only among midsize sedans, but among all vehicles sold in the U.S.
There are some automakers who make a big chunk of their auto sales based on fleet sales, but these numbers prove that actual consumers feel like they’ve got a pretty easy choice to make when considering buying a new car. More good news for Honda: the Honda Civic and Honda CR-V both topped their segments with over 300,000 units registered, as well, giving Honda a strong 2013 in consumer sales.
So if you’re looking for a Honda Accord near Mira Mesa, we don’t blame you, and you aren’t alone. We’ve always said it’s a great car, but this data shows that the general public emphatically agrees with us.
