Honda Running Autonomous Tests in "Ghost Town"

At this point it probably is safe to say that that just about every automaker on the face of the planet is at least exploring the possibility of developing autonomous automobiles, if not full-on testing them out in the field right now to determine what adjustments must be made to get these self-driving cars out on actual roads as soon as safely possible. In fact, many of the advanced safety features that make autonomous driving possible, like frontal collision mitigation, lane-keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control, already exist in some vehicles. The future is rapidly approaching, and Honda is doing everything they can to be at the front of the line when breakthroughs are inevitably made.

Honda Bringing Back Ridgeline Pickup

It’s been a few years since we saw a new Honda Ridgeline, but the time has come for one of the more underrated Honda models in brand history to make its triumphant return. The last model year version of the vehicle to appear on the Pacific Honda lot was a 2014 Ridgeline, but the 2017 iteration has received a complete overhaul which, coincidentally, also has come with a host of early positive reviews.

Honda Models Among Top Family Vehicles

When it comes to purchasing a new automobile for a family, most consumers narrow their options to a couple of choices: enjoy the spaciousness and huge cargo space of a minivan, or go for the aesthetics and maneuverability of an SUV. While a lot of what goes into a decision like that is the tastes of the buyer, we here at Pacific Honda feel confident in saying that every single SUV and minivan we currently sell would make for a great family automobile, and we’re incredibly happy to say that U.S. News & World Report agrees with us, as they just included the 2016 Honda CR-V, 2016 Honda HR-V, 2016 Honda Pilot and 2016 Honda Odyssey on their list of the 2016 Best Cars for Families.

2016 Honda Civic Offers Redesigned Center Console

We’ve talked a lot about the all-new 2016 Honda Civic over the course of the last couple of months, but to be fair, so have a lot of other publications, mostly because everything about the newest iteration of the best-selling Honda model ever brings so many positive and interesting things to the table. It looks cooler than it ever has, it offers more technology than it ever has, and it offers more drivetrain and trim options than it ever has, all of which are worthy of praise. But do you know what hasn’t gotten nearly enough attention so far in terms of this Civic upgrade? The redesigned center console.

2016 Honda HR-V Wins "Green SUV of the Year"

With gas prices dropping so precipitously over the course of the last several months, consumer focus on automakers developing green technology has waned a bit, but that doesn’t mean efficient powertrains are any less important now than they were before prices dropped. Green tech is important first and foremost because Mother Nature deserves to be treated like the queen she is, and efficient models like the 2016 Honda HR-V currently are doing a lot to make that happen.

Five Honda Models Earn IIHS Safety Accolades

This won’t come as a huge surprise to those that have been Honda owners for some time, but Honda models continue to be among the safest automobiles in the industry, as proven once again by safety tests performed over the course of the last few months by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

These tests, which look at all the most common ways that a vehicle can be involved in an accident, look at how advanced safety features and designated crumple zones work when a vehicle is pushed to its limits. Since Honda is known for working in cutting-edge safety tech and performing extremely well on these tests, it’s no shock to see that four 2016 model year Honda vehicles already have been named an IIHS Top Safety Pick+, while a fifth has been named a Top Safety Pick.

Honda Accord Named IIHS Top Safety Pick+

One of the reasons that consumers really give Honda vehicles serious consideration is their reputation for safety. Five 2015 models (and two 2016 models, so far) have been named either a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for their efforts in the arena of safety, with the most recent of those automobiles being the 2016 Honda Accord, recently refreshed to offer frontal collision prevention and to dominate the always tough small-front overlap crash test.

2016 Honda Civic to Debut in September

From the moment that Honda debuted the all-new, completely-redesigned 2016 Honda Civic concept vehicle in New York earlier this year, Honda dealers all over the country had a sense that it was going to be something special. With over 16.5 million models sold in its history, the Civic is the best-selling model that this particular automaker has ever developed, and we already can tell that the latest iteration is going to further boost those numbers.

Honda Tops YouGov BrandIndex for Millenials

When the higher-ups at Honda spend their millions of dollars on advertising, they do so with the hopes that those ads will, in fact, reach the people they hope to reach. It’s a challenging game to play, but good advertising combined with a good product very often leads to plenty of word-of-mouth buzz that plays into the overall success of a brand. Honda is doing particularly well in all of these areas, according to the YouGov BrandIndex, which recently determined that Honda was among the top auto brands in the minds of Millennials.

Honda Debuts New 2016 Pilot Ads

As we mentioned last month, Honda dealers all over the country are gearing up to introduce the completely-redesigned 2016 Honda Pilot, and we’re not sure what else to say about it all other than we’re really, really excited about the prospect of a new vehicle that looks as good and drives as well as this one does.

"Best Green Cars" List Includes 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid

Green vehicles are more popular now than they’ve ever been in the history of cars, which is pretty incredible considering the drop in gas prices we’ve all seen over the course of the last year. While fuel is more affordable than it been since Bill Clinton was in office, people are still snatching up green vehicles left in right, in part because they do save even more money at the pump than non-green models, and in part because they go a long way toward saving the environment.

Honda Plans to Bring Civic Hatchback to U.S.

It’s a long story, but here’s the short version of it: Honda reportedly plans to start ramping up production for the hatchback version of the Honda Civic, previously only available to European consumers, with the intent to start selling them to American consumers in the near future.

2015 Honda CR-V Performs Well in Crash Tests

Like it always has been, safety remains a priority for Honda, particularly in their new 2015 Honda CR-V, which has been completely redesigned for the new model year. Of course, any time an automaker moves forward with a full update, it’s the job of crash-testing organizations like the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety to go ahead and run that new vehicle through the ringer of tests that determine just how safe a vehicle actually is.

2015 Honda Accord Among "10Best" Cars of 2015

According to “Car and Driver” magazine, there are approximately 150 new cars from which consumers can choose these days, which can certainly create an overwhelming experience for an uninformed person. Luckily, “Car and Driver” goes to great lengths every year to put out its eagerly-anticipated “10Best” list, which looks at vehicles under $80,000 that deliver the most value, boast the most strengths and offer the smoothest drives.

For the 29th consecutive year, the Honda Accord was put on the list.

2015 Honda Fit Rules the Roost at SEMA

While the 2015 Honda Fit might not be the top-selling vehicle at most American Honda dealers, there’s no denying the fact that it’s a really hot up-and-comer, especially among younger, urban drivers looking for a slick vehicle that not only is affordable but fun and stylish and technologically-advanced, as well.

2014 Honda Civic Among Most Worry-Free Vehicles

When buying a new vehicle, the last thing consumers want to do is worry about their latest purchase. There’s nothing worse, after all, than buying anything brand new only to discover that it’s a much bigger headache than expected. Luckily, Honda is an automaker with a reputation for making sturdy, reliable automobiles. Worry shouldn’t be part of the equation, and according to the recent Worry-Free Index put out by Cars.com, it probably won’t be, especially if you own a 2014 Honda Civic.

2014 Honda Odyssey Rejuvinating Perception of Minivans

Back in the 1990s, large SUVs were unbelievably popular—so much so that most consumers didn’t care what the efficiency numbers were, so long as the vehicle itself was massive, with all sorts of space for passengers and the cargo that goes along with a bigger family.

As those grew more popular, consumers started to catch on that these large SUVs could, in many ways, replace the minivan as the family vehicle of choice, and that’s exactly what happened. Not only did SUVs usually look cooler, but they were easier to drive and park, as well. By the turn of the century, it seemed as though large SUVs were here to stay as the preferred family vehicle for American families.

Honda CR-V Among Most Likely To Hit 200K Miles

There are basically two types of car buyers that Honda dealers see on a day-to-day basis: the ones that want a new car every couple of years, and the ones that want to pay theirs off quickly and then ride it into the ground. For that latter group, it’s important to invest in a vehicle with a reputation for lasting as long as possible.

2014 Honda Accord Still Winning Awards

For years, the Honda Accord has been the single best-selling model of car that we’ve sold here at Pacific Honda, but when you build a midsize sedan that not only connects with your customers but also holds up extremely well over time, great sales are almost sure to follow.

Today, the 2014 Honda Accord is holding up that strong tradition by remaining one of the most respected automobiles in the business. Not that the general public isn’t aware of this, but we thought it would be nice to list some of the major accolades that the newest version of the Accord has won over the course of the last several months, just to prove that it isn’t just the name and the legacy selling these vehicles; the sedan itself is still earning awards.
