October has been in the rearview mirror for a few weeks now, but sales of the 2013 Honda Civic last month have left us with a pretty interesting discovery: the Civic is now officially the best-selling compact sedan in America, besting some competitors that have long given Honda headaches.

That’s not a typo. 105-year-old California resident Edythe Kirchmaier was recently given a 2013 Honda Civic from an anonymous donor when her own beat-up minivan hit the skids.
