2013 Honda Civic Is America's Best-Selling Compact Sedan

October has been in the rearview mirror for a few weeks now, but sales of the 2013 Honda Civic last month have left us with a pretty interesting discovery: the Civic is now officially the best-selling compact sedan in America, besting some competitors that have long given Honda headaches.


Just last month alone, Honda sold 27,328 units, with the second place vehicle selling almost 4,000 fewer. For the year, that puts the Civic at 280,899 units, with the closest competition rounding out at only 257,184.

We don’t have to tell you that the Civic has long been one of our best-sellers and is, in our humble opinion, a tremendous value for everything that it brings to the table. After all, few vehicles priced similarly to the Civic can stand up to it in terms of reliability, efficiency, technology, and safety.

Also, the 2013 Civic was given a bit of a visual upgrade this model year, which is something we’ve discussed in this space before. That’s been well-received by consumers so far, as has everything else about the vehicle, and that likely explains why sales have been so strong in the U.S. thus far.

When it comes to the 2013 Honda Civic, Linda Vista drivers have been very receptive, and we expect things to stay that way for the remainder of the model year. After that point, we’re hoping we’ll get to brag about the 2014 Honda Civic selling just as well as this one, if not better. For now, though, we’ll just enjoy this one. Congrats, Civic!
