When
a car is redesigned, the year following usually doesn’t bring any changes.
Since it’s coming off a new-generation redesign from last year, the 2019
Honda Accord
will arrive at Pacific Honda mostly unchanged. That’s not necessarily a bad
thing, since many drivers from the San Diego area who missed out last year get
a mulligan.
Here’s
a refresher of what’s in store for you. The only change to the engine lineup is
the loss of one engine choice from the Honda Accord Touring. Otherwise, it’s
the same engines (two low-displacement four-cylinder engines) and transmission
choices (a manual, an automatic, and a CVT) that we saw before. One thing
that’s unique here is the availability of the six-speed manual transmission on
the Honda Accord Sport, one of the last cars in its segment that offers the
option.
There’s
more (of course). There’s a Honda Accord Hybrid, a Honda Accord Coupe that’s
another rarity in its segment, and the Honda
Display Audio
infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™
unlike some competitors who shall remain nameless.
Something
else that’s important is the availability of Honda Sensing safety features
(adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and forward collision
warning) on every body style and trim level. Naturally, going higher in the
trim levels gets you more safety features, including lane keep assist and
automatic emergency braking. Your Honda dealer will have more details.
The
Honda Accord is popular with the press, the people, and with the team at
Pacific Honda. It maintains its dominance because year after year it finds new
ways to surprise us. To see if it’s the right new car for you or to choose from
our lineup of new Honda vehicles, visit us at 4761 Convoy St. in San Diego, CA or call ahead to
