We have written a lot over the course of the last several
months about all the delicious Honda Civic iterations that have graced our lot
here at Pacific Honda in 2017, and we’ve got one more that we think you’re
going to love: the 2017 Honda Civic
Si.
The Honda Civic Si itself isn’t necessarily new, as it
always has served as more of a performance-based, sportier two-door version of
our best-selling sedan, but the new version of the Honda Civic Si has been
given the same sporty exterior redesign as its siblings, and it also gets a
turbocharger for the first time in the model’s history.
It uses the same 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine as
the standard 2017 Honda Civic, but we think San Diego Honda drivers will appreciate just how much boost the
turbocharger tacks on. This new model can make upwards of 205 hp and 192 lb-ft
of torque, both of which provide much punchier driving than Honda Civic owners
are accustomed to having.
The new version is a little heavier, but the handling is
sporty and the suspension is nice and stiff, giving the car the sort of
performance one would want from a vehicle marketed for its sportiness and
performance.
