Every
year brings plenty of new Honda SUVs to Pacific Honda.
But some are newer than others. Case in point: the just-arrived 2019
Honda HR-V.
We’ve had the Honda HR-V in one form or another since it was first introduced
in 1999, but it’s newly redesigned for this model year. So whether you’re
looking for the perfect crossover or the
perfect new Honda vehicle, pay us a visit — you’ll get both.
The
Honda HR-V rides on the same platform as the 2019
Honda Fit,
which was redesigned last year. This year, it’s time for the crossover to get a
refresh just like the hatchback did a year ago. One of the biggest changes:
starting this year, a CVT is the only available transmission; the manual
transmission is no longer available. That CVT is re-tuned for a more natural
shift feel. It’s also revamped for lower noise, which is additionally helped by
further cabin insulation.
There’s
also a new Sport trim this year (it slots
in just above the base LX trim). It adds some trim-specific interior and
exterior styling, a better infotainment system than the LX, and 18-inch alloy
wheels. Another trim — the Touring — sits at the top of the lineup and includes
leather seating (a first for this model), standard AWD, and navigation (the
latter feature has been dropped from the EX-L trim).
Another
reason to opt for the upper trims: the EX and higher trims will get both the
Honda Sensing suite and Honda LaneWatch blind spot camera as standard equipment
(they aren’t available on the LX or Sport
trims). Aside from the Touring trim (where it’s standard), AWD is available on
all models.
So
is it worth it? We think so, but we don’t expect you to simply take our word
for it. Visit us from anywhere in the San Diego area, or call 858-694-1000 to
arrange a test drive. We’re conveniently located at 4761 Convoy St. in San Diego, CA.
I had the opportunity to drive this Honda and honestly say that it is a really successful model, if I would change the car now, I would definitely consider this model.
