For big-time automotive fans, there are few things more enjoyable than getting a first look at a popular vehicle that has been given a complete redesign. Cars don’t get drastically new exterior looks every model year, so waiting for flashy new designs is something that requires a little patience. Well, in the case of an updated Honda Fit, patience is no longer required since Honda recently released images of what they say will be the design for the 2015 Honda Fit.

That seems like a long ways away, especially with the excellent 2013 Honda Fit still on Linda Vista Certified Honda lots and selling well, but considering the 2014 model year version will be here before we know it, we probably shouldn’t be too surprised by the fact that the popular hatchback is gearing up for some big changes a little over a year from now.

What are those changes? Well, all one has to do is look at the thing to know that it’s got a much edgier, sportier look than the current version. The bodywork is all new, with sharper, more angular lines all along the front, side, and rear of the vehicle.

But we have also been told to expect a brand new Fit sedan, while Honda has also been hard at work developing a new hybrid drivetrain for the Fit. There may not be a Fit Hybrid here in the U.S., but we’ve heard that a small hybrid crossover based on the Fit platform will be, meaning this redesign will result in more than what we see in the pictures. More waiting is in store for the aforementioned Fit sedan and small crossover, but for the main Fit, at least, we’ve got enough of a preview to tide us over.
