Honda Leads All Automakers in Top Safety Pick+ Vehicles

It’s pretty incredible to think that there was a time not that long ago when cars weren’t required to have seatbelts installed. Earlier models of vehicles didn’t even have windshield wipers, which seem like the simplest of safety features an automobile could have.

Today, though, safety is more advanced (and more important) than ever, and automakers like Honda are doing an excellent job making sure that drivers are as safe as possible when behind the wheel of a vehicle. Crash tests performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety have shown just how adept today’s cars, trucks, and SUVs are at avoiding catastrophe in case of an accident.

Actually, the IIHS has a designation called Top Safety Pick+ that applies to vehicles that not only do well on all of their crash tests, but also offer some sort of preemptive front crash prevention system. Honda, it just so happens, has more Top Safety Pick+ vehicles than any other automaker in the industry, including the 2014 Honda Accord sedan and coupe, the 2014 Honda Civic sedan, and the 2014 Honda Odyssey. The 2014 Honda Civic coupe also was named an IIHS Top Safety Pick.

San Diego Honda dealers are excited to offer vehicles that do well in crash tests, and we’re very grateful to Honda engineers for developing safety technology that is so unbelievably excellent. We’ve come a long way from the days of no windshield wipers and seatbelts, and we’re excited to see what Honda comes up with for the future of safety technology.
