The completely-redesigned 2015 Honda Fit is a really interesting little vehicle for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that it somehow takes a class of vehicles – subcompact hatches – and makes it cool.
On the one hand, these vehicles always have existed to give consumers an inexpensive new vehicle option that also happens to offer some measure of utility, but price typically has been the operative word in this segment, and we’ve certainly seen some of the competition release some vehicles that were inexpensive but didn’t offer much else.
The new Fit is nothing like that (except for the inexpensive part), which is very likely why Kelley Blue Book recently included it on its list of the “Top 10 Cool Cars Under $18,000” for the 2015 model year. In other words, not all new vehicles on the low end of the price spectrum should be shrugged off.
Sometimes, as in the case of the Fit, they can actually offer quite a lot of features that consumers really love. Some of those features include a roomy interior, fun technology, high efficiency, entertaining driving dynamics and of course a lovely exterior. Honda has made this particular small hatchback look about as slick as we’ve ever seen, and that combined with all the other things that the Fit does well makes it more than worthy of a spot on the aforementioned KBB.com list.
