Honda Accord Hybrid Returns for 2017 Model Year

Just looking at the forthcoming 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid, it might not be entirely evident that much has changed. This is false, obviously, because Honda tends to offer up new technologies and other minor upgrades with new model year versions of automobiles, and since it’s been over a year since a new iteration of the Accord Hybrid was released, we know for certain that upgrades have been included, even if the outside of the model doesn’t look all that different.


The biggest change in the latest iteration of the car is under the hood, as Honda engineers worked hard to increase power and fine-tune the elite efficiency of the drivetrain. The most notable of these improvements come in terms of horsepower, as the 2017 Accord Hybrid will make upwards of 212 hp, a 16-hp boost over the last iteration of the automobile and good enough to top its segment in terms of power.

In terms of physical changes to the drivetrain, Honda re-engineered just about everything, with new electric motors and a revised 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle gas engine that also keeps the model atop its segment in terms of fuel efficiency.
