New Honda Tech at CES

Automotive technology is evolving rapidly. Here at Pacific Honda we've seen cars dramatically change over the past few years, and the Honda brand isn't done adding amazing features to its lineup of vehicles. We recently got a preview of what they're bringing to next year's Consumer Electronics Show and we think that local drivers will be impressed.

One technology that could eventually be found in Honda cars is known as “Safe Swarm.”It's influenced by animals like fish and birds, ones that can travel together without hitting each other. It uses “Vehicle-to-Everything” technology. That means that your car would be able to tell other cars your location and speed of travel. It would help drivers and self-driving cars alike find the best, safest path through traffic. This tech could even be used to allow your car to warn others about a potential hazard. In addition to keeping you safer on the road, Safe Swarm could also help keep traffic moving smoothly.

The Honda brand also plans to show off Wireless Vehicle-to-Grid technology at CES. It's a wireless charging system for electric cars. It differentiates itself from other similar technologies by allowing a vehicle to actually transfer power from the green car back to the grid.

There's also some new in-car tech to display. Smart Audio technology, that sends different audio signals to the driver's left or right ear. This could let you know where a potential hazard is coming from and help you react in time. There will also be some new infotainment features to show off, including a feature that allows you to make restaurant reservations or pay for gas right from your car. We can't wait to see what else the Honda brand is working on.
