Here at Pacific Honda, we know that more drivers are looking
for greener cars these days. The Honda brand is making sure that it has a lot
to offer you if you're one of these drivers looking to lower your carbon
footprint. We've learned a bit more about the automaker's plans for electric
and hybrid vehicles.
The first bit of news is about the Honda Urban EV Concept.
We have an official name for it now. When it goes on sale it will be called the
Honda E.
It's arriving in Europe first, with a release in other markets following later
on. It's expected to produce more than 200 lb-ft of torque and a battery that
should allow for around 124 miles of driving. That may seem a bit low, but the
Honda E is built to be a city car. The buildout of more charging infrastructure
in more areas will help it get around. With fast charging tech, expect it to be
able to charge to eighty percent in just half an hour.
We've also learned that a popular Honda model might soon get
the hybrid treatment. The 2019
Honda Fit is a versatile small car with the cargo space you need. We've
seen test mules of the next-generation Honda Fit in action, but now we know
that a hybrid version could also be in the works. The Honda Fit is already
quite fuel-efficient, so we look forward to seeing what a hybrid version can
do.
