Honda Introduces “Radical” New Honda Civic Type R

At this point, it probably is more than fair to say that the new 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback is a rousing success, not only with customers here in San Diego, CA, but all over the country. However, that shouldn’t come as too huge a surprise considering how excited people were when the Honda brand debuted their plans for the updated line of next-gen Honda Civic models.

Of course, even more than the new hatch, fans of the brand were excited to see what Honda engineers would come up with for an Americanized version of the beloved Honda Civic Type R, which to date never has been sold on American soil. That is about to change, as the Honda brand has every intention of putting a production model version of that very car onto the lot of your friendly San Diego, CA Honda dealership in the coming months.

Late last month, the Honda brand finally debuted a prototype of the model that gave us our first real look at the vehicle, and we’ll get the real thing at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV. Needless to say, we’re very excited about all of this here at Pacific Honda, and the automaker’s pretty pumped, too.

"We promised the most ambitious, sportiest Civic lineup ever and we're delivering on that promise with each new Civic," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "For the first time ever in America, Honda fans and enthusiasts will have access to the ultimate in Civic performance in the form of the new Type R."

The minute this vehicle finds its way here, we invite our customers to drop by and take it for a test drive. We’ve been waiting a long time for this car, and it finally is almost here!
