2019 Honda Pilot: New Look, New Features

The Honda Pilot entered a new generation with a new design back in 2016. For 2019, the redesign gets a revamp. What results is a much-improved version of an already-great SUV, one that gives San Diego families an alternative to minivans like the Honda Odyssey while also providing some great new features. It’s in stock now at Pacific Honda.

What’s new? Quite a bit this year. The styling has a bit more edge than before, its rugged fasciae, bigger skid plate, and new 20-inch wheels taking the 2019 Honda Pilot out of minivan territory and making it look a bit more rugged. It’s a welcome change, since many drivers want their SUVs to look like an SUV.

The engine remains the same, but the nine-speed transmission gets an overhaul. Its shifting is more assured now than before. Front wheel drive is standard. Seating is a maximum of eight, cargo capacity a maximum 83.9 cubic feet (accessible through a new hands-free liftgate), and there’s ample ground clearance that lets you take full advantage of the available all-wheel drive.

If you’re more tech-minded, you’ll also find lots to like. To start with, Honda Sensing® safety features are now available on all trims (the LX trim didn’t used to have it). The infotainment system also gets a refresh, with optional Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ fed through a new display that has a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that takes over-the-air updates.

Drivers with families will appreciate two new features that carry over from the Honda Odyssey. One is CabinTalk, which allows the driver to talk to rear-seat passengers at normal volume and still be heard. The other is the handy CabinControl app.

For more information, or to test drive this or any other new Honda SUV, call ahead to 858-694-1000 or visit Pacific Honda at 4761 Convoy St. in San Diego, CA.

  1. This vehicle is really great, the features and performance is excellent. Getting this vehicle is great for huge family. However, getting this might need assistance from money lender in order to successfully purchase one for the family. Anyone can get help from financial establishments.

  2. And I thought that it would turn out that it will be some other electric SUV as different brands are doing now. Thank God I do not. Great car. I saw the interior, the revelation. I recommend to every SUV fan

  5. Currently, I have this popular Dacia Duster but after 2 years of adventure with this car I am more and more willing to buy some Honda. Honda produces good cars and would not be in the category of electric SUVs.

  6. Again, we have an example of good allocation of power in such a large car. I go to Tiguan every day but I am thinking about changing the car into something from the Honda family. If such a good as they write here ...

  7. Very large, you can see the enlarged trunk, really big. Such a 5-person for a peaceful night and you can go on holiday for the holidays. This is a big advantage of this car.

  8. Thank God it's not another of these electric SUVs. In my opinion, these cars should not be electricians for one important reason: nowhere the cars will be overcharged in off-road conditions.
