Honda Posts Best December Ever

Judging by the fact that the Guinness Book of World Records is the top-selling copyrighted book in the history of published works, we’d venture to guess that people are, in general, rather entertained when records are broken. Knowing that, we here at Pacific Honda are pleased to announce that just last month Honda automakers did, in fact, break a record by posting their best ever sales for the month of December, with 135,255 vehicles sold over the course of the month’s 31 days.


The previous record for December was set just last year, but this year’s total topped that mark by almost 2%. It really put an exclamation point on a great 2013 that was, as a year, almost record-breaking in and of itself. In all, Honda automakers sold over 1.5 million vehicles last year, only 26,230 units short of the company’s all-time annual record, which was set back in 2007.

There are a lot of models Honda can thank for these elite numbers, but for the most part it was the 2014 Honda Civic, 2014 Honda Accord, and 2014 Honda CR-V leading the charge last year, at least according to John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for Honda.

“Breaking our December sales record is a great way to finish a near-record year, but perhaps more significantly, the CR-V joins Accord and Civic as the third Honda vehicle to sell more than 300,000 units per year for the first time in our history,” Mendel said in a statement.

Clearly, new Honda cars are pleasing consumers, and here at Pacific Honda, we're confident that 2014 can be even better for a brand clearly set on breaking as many records as it can.
