2014 Honda Pilot Offers Function and Versatility

If someone were to approach a random person on the street and ask them to name a current Honda model, chances are pretty strong that the 2014 Honda Pilot wouldn’t be the first one rattled off. Despite the fact that it doesn’t have the same sort of name recognition as the Accord or Civic, we feel very strongly about this spacious and reliable midsize crossover, and we know that all San Diego Honda dealers feel the same way.

All trims of Pilot feature a really nice 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces upwards of 250 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, but the Pilot also offers an all-wheel-drive system that sends the majority of the power to the rear wheels to keep the vehicle from sliding around in bad weather.

Technology is also top-notch in this crossover, as the 2014 model year version features a great electronics interface that hooks up with smartphones for Pandora use, phone calls, and even text messages. USB connection is standard now, too, as is a rearview camera, which means fans of big tech won’t be disappointed with the new Pilot.

Most importantly, however, is the fact that this vehicle can comfortably seat plenty of passengers thanks to a roomy third-row seat, and the storage area is absolutely cavernous. It rides smoothly, has great safety scores, and is just as reliable as any other Honda vehicle.

It’s hard not to love this SUV, even if it’s not the #1 seller in our stable. As far as crossovers go, it isn’t easy to do better than the 2014 Honda Pilot.
